KETAMINE ASSISTED THERAPY
KETAMINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY (KAP) COMBINES THE THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS OF PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH THE INTENTIONAL USE OF KETAMINE TO SUPPORT HEALING, INSIGHT, AND LASTING CHANGE. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN KAP CAN BE ESPECIALLY HELPFUL FOR INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING DEPRESSION, COMPLEX TRAUMA, PTSD, GRIEF, AND ANXIETY. WHILE KETAMINE CAN CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW PERSPECTIVES AND INCREASED EMOTIONAL FLEXIBILITY, IT IS THE THERAPY BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER EACH MEDICINE SESSION THAT HELPS TRANSFORM THOSE EXPERIENCES INTO MEANINGFUL AND LASTING GROWTH.
My approach to KAP is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and honors each person's unique relationship with spirituality, ancestors, nature, and cultural traditions. During our work together, we welcome all parts of you with curiosity and compassion, creating space for whatever emerges during the medicine experience. Whether your healing is rooted in faith, ancestral connection, the natural world, or your own inner wisdom, these experiences are honored as meaningful resources throughout the therapeutic process. There is no expectation that you hold any spiritual belief, only an openness to exploring what feels authentic and supportive for you.
Before beginning KAP, we will determine together whether this approach is the right fit for your goals. Medical clearance is required, and ketamine must be prescribed by a licensed medical provider. I work collaboratively with a prescribing clinician, who is responsible for determining your medical eligibility, prescribing the medication, and monitoring any medical concerns. My role is to provide the psychotherapy, preparation, support throughout each medicine session, and integration afterward.
TREATMENT PROCESS
Preparation is an essential part of KAP. Most clients participate in two to three preparation sessions, where we create an individualized treatment plan, identify your therapeutic goals and intentions, and build the skills and internal resources needed to support your medicine journey. These preparation sessions are standard psychotherapy appointments and may be billed to your insurance.
A typical KAP series includes six medicine sessions. Each session is divided into two parts. We begin with a psychotherapy session to check in, reconnect with your intentions, and prepare for the medicine experience. During the second portion, you will take sublingual ketamine in a safe, supportive therapeutic setting. The medicine experience typically lasts 90 minutes to two hours, including time for grounding and reflection before you leave.
COST
The psychotherapy portions of treatment including preparation, the counseling portion of each KAP session, and the closing sessions—may be billed to your insurance when applicable. The medicine portion of each KAP session is private pay at $180 per session. A limited number of sliding-scale appointments are available based on financial need.
Healing continues long after the medicine session ends. Integration is where insights become meaningful change. In addition to individual therapy, clients have the option of joining my KAP integration group, where they can deepen their understanding, strengthen new patterns, and connect with others engaged in their own healing journey.
